We are a newly built, fully secured, gated and 24/7 security monitored storage unit facility located 2 miles east of Kansas City International Airport, minutes from KCI Expo Center, Zona Rosa, Tiffany Springs, Boardwalk, Platte Falls Conservation Center and less than 20 minutes to beautiful Smithville Lake. The Golden Plains Technology Park, the 5.5 million-square-foot data center campus and home to Meta's Kansas City data center is at the corner of I-435 and U.S. 169 and is less than 10 minutes away. Our facility features over 200 standard drive up accessible, fully enclosed and dry storage units ranging from 10' x 10' to 10' x 25'. We offer a limited number of uncovered parking spaces for motorcycles and vehicles 20ft length maximum and we feature over 30 large 13.5' x 50' units suitable for Class-A RVs, large boats or contractor garages.

    Our newly built facility is located on 11 acres, completely fenced in and gated with state of the art 24/7 security monitoring. A majority of our storage units are enclosed and drive up accessible for ease of use and Kansas City North Storage specializes in larger units for vehicles, trucks, trailers, boats and RV's. Our steel constructed buildings have exterior LED lights with concrete drive aisles and all the units have roll up doors with tamper resistant locks.

    • How do I rent a unit?

      We are set up for contactless leasing with easy e-signature. Call or text our office at 816-410-0704 or send an email to 169admin@169storage.com with information on what size unit you are looking for and we can assist you with pricing, promotions and availability. We also welcome you to stop into our office located at 7557 NW Cookingham Rd Kansas City, MO 64163 during our normal office hours of M-F 8am-5pm and Sat 9am-1pm to view units and set up your lease in person. Appointments are appreciated but not mandatory. Please call ahead to ensure the manager is in the office.

    • Do I need to sign a long-term lease?

      No. We understand that your storage needs may change from month to month which is why we offer the convenience of month-to-month lease agreements. Our leases renew automatically on the 1st day of each month and we require 15 days written notification when you intend to terminate your lease agreement and vacate your unit.

    • What type of documentation do I need to provide in order to lease a unit?

      Please have a valid form of identification on hand such as a driver’s license or passport and a major debit or credit card as payment. 

    • How do I make payment?

      We require all tenants be set up for auto-payment which runs on the 1st of each month with a valid debit or credit card on file. Please contact the office with any questions about payment or payment options. We offer the convenience of an online portal to update your credit or debit card as needed and to see information about your rental history with us.

    • How do I access the facility?

      Each tenant will be given a personal passcode to enter into the keypad. This feature helps us keep track of who comes in and out. You can also download the Storage Genie App to your iPhone or Android and the gate will automatically open for you without even rolling down your window or getting out of your vehicle.

    • When can I move in or access my unit?

      As soon as we have a signed lease agreement and payment for your first month's rent including any applicable administrative fees and discounts or promotions, you are welcome to move into your unit.

    • What type of lock do I need to secure my unit?

      For added convenience, we offer tenants tamper resistant locks for sale in our office though tenants are welcome to use any type of lock they prefer. Please ask the manager during leasing if you are unsure if a specific lock will fit. 

    • Do I need insurance for my stored items?

      Safety of your property is our priority. We do not require tenants to have insurance on the items they are storing but we highly recommend it. To ensure your items are covered in the event of a loss, we recommend contacting your personal insurance company to see if your items will be covered.

    • Can I live or work out of my unit?

      We do not offer work or living spaces or allow tenants to operate businesses out of their storage units. Units are meant for storage of personal belongings, vehicles or business items only. 

    • Do you offer a military discount? What about any specials or promotions?

      We offer a 5% discount to active military with ID. We also offer discounts or free rent on long term leases. Any promotions or specials we offer will be listed on the website but please contact our office at 816-410-0704 for availability and stipulations.

    • What pest control and cleanliness measures are taken?

      We pride ourselves on maintaining a clean facility and during our unit turnover process, we ensure all units are clean and pest free prior to renting to the next tenant. The facility and grounds are regularly treated by pest control services. We require that tenants do not store any perishable items or items that can attract bugs or pests. Please contact the office if there are any issues.
